Secret Ravine Lipizzans is pleased to welcome back Rudolf Rostek of the Spanish Riding School of Vienna for a riding clinic May 6 - May 10, 2010. Clinic location is being finalized, but it will be in the Loomis/Auburn area. Clinic format is 10 private lessons per day, and the clinic is open to all levels of horses and riders. There will also be an In-Hand Seminar and Barbeque Friday evening, May 7. Clinic rate is $200 for one ride, $185/ea for 2 rides or $175/ea for three or more rides. In-Hand Seminar is $20/person.
Rudolf, or Rudi as he prefers, is a Bereiter of the Spanish Riding School (SRS) in Vienna, Austria. Rudi joined the SRS in 1991 as an Eléve (Trainee) and was awarded the title of Bereiter (Rider) in 2002. The Spanish Riding School, founded in 1572, is the world's oldest and most respected riding institution, committed to the traditions of the classical dressage training. While especially well known for their spectacular "airs above the ground" the SRS trains and performs all of the traditional dressage movements, both in hand and under saddle. Their performances with the quadrilles of stunning Lipizzan stallions are an amazing sight, and it is no wonder that the SRS continues to cultivate classical training traditions in the modern day world.
Because the SRS performances maintain their authenticity and historical essence, some observers mistakenly assume that the Bereiters are not aligned with the standards of modern competitive dressage riders. To the contrary, the Bereiters are involved in the competitive dressage world through their private training, with horses and students that are competitive at national and international levels through FEI.
There are still riding slots available in the upcoming clinic. Contact Lori Green at 916-806-0050 or by email at SRLipizzan@aol.com for further information.
