For those of you not familiar with the beautiful Irish singer Enya, her music possess a haunting sweetness. We named our own Enya after the singer because she was the sweetest baby imaginable. Now six years old, she is still one of the all time sweetest horses you will ever find. You can scratch and rub her for hours and she is happy as can be. Likewise, she will gladly scratch any horses in the barn for hours on end. We keep thinking such a sweet, mellow girl!
We certainly never anticipated that this young lady would be such a dynamo under saddle. Enya has boundless forward energy, lofty gates and an incredible desire to please. In addition, she is quite simply...gorgeous.
Enya was foaled June 14, 1997. The picture above is Enya at two weeks old and is one of my favorites. Her sire is the imported stallion Siglavy XI-6, who is a rare black Lipizzan. Her dam is the beautiful mare Empressa, who we sadly lost the year after Enya was born. Enya was Empressa's only foal. We are keeping Enya for our breeding program and we are confident that this wonderful young mare is going to be an outstanding broodmare.
